Webinar Overview
What advising interventions and curricular programs may help FGLI students find their footing as undergraduate engineers? This webinar will offer insights into how students in Princeton’s FSI program (a summer cohort program for students from first-generation and lower-to-moderate income backgrounds) access and navigate the university’s engineering curriculum. Topics will include math placement, first-year curricula, summer coursework, pre-professional programming, and academic integrity education.
Presenter Bio
Cecily Swanson oversees the advising and academic standing of students pursuing the bachelor of science in engineering degree. She is responsible for oversight of undergraduate awards, professional development, and international experiences for engineering students as well as the accreditation of Princeton’s engineering programs. Swanson has worked at Princeton since 2014. Before joining the Engineering School, she served as associate dean for academic advising in the Office of the Dean of the College since 2020.
